The dissemination of Portuguese writers abroad aims to make Portuguese writers and their work better known outside Portugal.
Nature of the support:
Support for travelling
The DGLB pays for the travelling expenses of the writers invited for literary events abroad festivals, conferences, book fairs.
- Usually the DGLB acquires the tickets for the invited authors, but this support can also be made by means of a financial subsidy to the organizing bodies;
- The organizing bodies should provide accommodation and living expenses for the invited authors;
- Support is granted for Portuguese authors and African authors from the Portuguese speaking countries;
- The events should be presented to the DGLB in detail and it is advisable that this information is submitted until the end of the first trimester.
Support for projects and partnerships
The DGLB offers financial and/or technical support to the projects and the partners which include in their activities the promotion of Portuguese literature.
- The projects should be presented to DGLB in detail by the organizing body;
- There are no deadlines for submitting projects, but it is advisable that they reach the DGLB until the end of the first trimester;
- The DGLB aid usually entails the payment of a financial support paid by international cheque addressed to the organizing body;
- Support is granted for events and activities in which Portuguese literature is highlighted.
